2017 Blog Events:
Welcome to 2017! I hope you all had a great 2016 and have had a wonderful start to the new year.
I was in Annecy, France during the New Year and when the clock hit 12:00am January the 1st, 2017 I watched several paper balloons fly into the air with wishes being whispered into the flickering flames that powered it into the sky. The lake itself, which Annecy is famous for, was smooth and mirror like which helped to perfectly reflect the bright array of various illegal fireworks that now lit up the dark alpine sky. It was surreal, a stop in time, it was perfect.
I remember feeling strange, almost sad at how much I have to go through this year with me being in grade 11, studying and practising for the test that I will take next year when I finish year 12 that will practically determine my path in life. Then I thought of how I will come to own my own car and how I will learn to drive which is quite exciting. This year will be a busy one, a year that I know will come with a whole load of stress and fear but I must power on because these last two years of my schooling experience are important, so I must make them as memorable as possible. And I know for a fact, that this year will be filled with several new releases which I am so excited for! So yes, this year will be big, scary and extremely intimidating for me, but it is filled with the promise of new experiences and of course, a whole lot of brand new books to help reduce my stress levels or perhaps increase them!
I want you all to know that this year is a new year. A fresh year and a year full of hope. If you ever feel scared and stressed or are going through a bad time, think of the future and the endless possibilities that come with the dark times, with the stress, with the fear of what is too come because with the dark, there always comes a light as Dumbledore once stated:
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
So as this year progresses and we face what we fear, I hope we will join through this blog as one to help turn on the light. I love you all and hope your year will be filled with good times, challenging times and of course a whole lot of good books.
Love from Emmaleah Xx
All for one and one for all!
