Overall Comment: This book made me appreciate how much I love Ya contemporary books. I really really love them.

Review:

This book was amazing and I can happily say that I absolutely loved it. The characters, the story line and oh my gosh that ending, it was all so real and beautiful. In this book, we meet two characters who are rather lost with their lives due to horrors they have endured. First we meet Juliet Young, a girl in her final years of high schooling that recently lost her mother to a car crash (Don't worry, this isn't a spoiler). She is suffering badly and for this, her life is falling apart drastically and she feels as though nothing can help her, nothing but keeping up the practice of writing letters formally (With pen and paper) to her mother. It is here that we meet Declan Murphy, a boy who seems to do everything wrong and who seems to always land at the feet of trouble. It is through the simplicity of one heartfelt letter that their two world collided and they did so in a matter that is just so amazing.

First of all, I have to say that I loved the characters. They were so realistic for me and for this, I felt a connection to them. Grace is a character that develops so much over the story and the way this has been composed makes Grace a girl who grows stronger and stronger and this really shines throughout her stages within the book. The character that is Declan also displays strong development and this really compliments the title of the book. Together, both characters display realistic attitudes and were likable and enjoyable. There are several other characters throughout the book. Though they don't have a major part, they greatly compliment the high-school story line and really makes the book have a realistic setting development. The plot itself was amazing and really enjoyable in the sense that one could could predict what was going to happen yet be so unsure! I also loved the fact that you cannot judge a book by its cover and that fact that it is inside what counts. This book is filled with morals and lessons and for this I loved it more. I also loved Grace's really deep view on life and I think this comes from her mothers job and life experiences. I also loved how this book saw people and families come together as well as influences that stage of moving on.

I greatly recommend this book as it was a beautiful and emotive piece that will be enjoyed by all.

Thank you to Bloomsbury for sending me this book! Sorry the review is late, school is so busy!
